Jesus Plus 8 Dinner
Jesus Plus 8 - another dinner coming Feb 4th -
Acts 2:46-47 - They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.
This is what we are striving to do at Crosswalk. The goal is to meet people at Crosswalk that you don’t know and become acquainted with them. To do this we will ask everyone that is able to have dinner on the chosen date at 6:00 pm to please fill out the information sheet. The names will be put in a container the weekend before the dinner and drawn randomly in groups of 8 people, four couples. While most will be married couples this is not required to participate. Adult singles (single, divorced, and widowed) are also welcome to participate but may want to find a partner for the evening. (same sex is fine) The dinners will be limited to adults only. If you are hosting a dinner please do not have your children at home that evening.
Organizers will call each host with the names and phone numbers of their group. The hosts will call the other members of their party and invite them to their home, providing directions and assignment of food. If there is a food allergy the host is responsible for letting the other couples know. None of us wants to get to know each other at the emergency room. If you are on an extremely restricted diet due to allergies or for other reasons please feel free to bring your own dinner. We want to get to know you, the food is not the important part. As the outreach progresses we would like for participants to be willing to rotate the 4 positions of Host, Entrée, Vegetable, and Desert in order to not put too much of a burden on any one family
The 4 assignments for each group will be:
Host: Dinner will be at their home. They will provide plates, utensils, napkins, glasses, and drinks. This is a Church function NO alcohol please.
Entrée: Responsible for an entrée for 8 people.
Vegetable: Responsible for a vegetable for 8 people.
Dessert: Responsible for a dessert for 8 people.
